Low-carb burger meatza

This low-carb burger meatza is topped with melted cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions and a special burger sauce. You will love this delicious, hearty, easy to make variation of a cheeseburger and pizza all in one.

Ingredients
 

Burger Crust

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 large egg
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Toppings

  • 3 tablespoons tomato sauce
  • 4 ounces cheddar cheese, sliced
  • 1 medium tomato, sliced
  • 1 cup lettuce, shredded
  • ¼ medium yellow onion, thinly sliced

Special Burger Sauce

  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • ½ tablespoon ketchup
  • ½ tablespoon yellow mustard, (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons pickles, finely diced

Garnish

  • sesame seeds, black olives, bacon

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 400F/200C.

  • In a bowl, mix ground beef, egg, salt, and pepper until well combined. Mixing with your hands is the easiest way to ensure everything mixes well.

  • Divide meat into 2 sections. Using your hands, flatten each meat section into a circle about 8-9” in diameter. Each burger crust should be about ¼” tall. *You can also flatten the meat between two pieces of parchment paper, pressing into shape with your hands.

  • Transfer burger crusts to a baking rack over a baking sheet. Bake for 8 minutes.

  • Remove burger crusts from the oven. Spread tomato sauce over each crust and top with sliced cheese. Bake for 2 minutes or until cheese has melted.

  • Top each burger meatza with tomato, lettuce, onion, and any optional garnishes (black olives, sesame seeds, and diced bacon). Drizzle the burger sauce over each burger meatza. Enjoy!
